Entertainment Spotlight : The Electric Mud

How did The Electric Mud get started?

-Well, Tommy (bass) and myself (Constantine, guitar) had played together in a band prior to this one that split up right as Peter (vocals and guitar) returned to Fort Myers from the University of Florida up in Gainesville, degree in hand. Knowing that dude was a serious player we jumped at the chance to link up, and were extremely fortunate as well that Jeff (drums) had just moved home from Spain and was looking to get into a serious band. From the first sessions, we knew we had something special and have kinda just been running with it ever since.

What do you want visitors and locals to know about The Electric Mud that they may not already know?

-Tommy and Peter are both killer chess players, and Jeff loves to surf monster waves.

What’s the craziest thing that happened at a show?

-Somebody made it rain dollar bills on us onstage once, and I swear we were all fully dressed.

Who has been an influence for The Electric Mud?

– There’s a lot of local bands that came before us and lit the way, ya know. Watching the way bands around our town have taken care of each other, watching them love and appreciate so fully the people that come out to shows and really make it possible for us to get out there and do our jobs and have fun. It’s impossible not to take a lot away from that.

Where would you like to play that you haven’t yet?
Hell man, we’d love to be the first band on the moon.

What’s next for The Electric Mud?
