Learn About Paloma’s Dream!

How did Paloma’s Dream get started?

My friends at Florida Association of Agencies Serving the Blind and Lighthouse of the Big Bend asked me in March, 2015 to help them lobby for funds to get a Children’s Program started.

What do you want visitors and locals to know about Paloma’s dream that they may not already know?

Unlike babies to school aged children and teenagers, Florida’s blind and visually impaired tweens do not get funding for supplemental services like life skills and equipment.

How has Paloma’s Dream impacted the community?

We helped get $1,250,000 for the Children’s Program and $500,000 will recur annually.

What’s next for Paloma’s Dream?

We’ll keep lobbying until all 900+ kids registered with the Division of Blind Services get the training and equipment they need to succeed.
