Learn about ReThink Energy Florida!

What brings you to Tallahassee? ReThink Energy Florida was founded in Tallahassee by Tallahassee native Kim Ross and her husband Brian Lee.
Our mission is to engage, educate, and empower citizens to take action and achieve energy independence in a healthier, more sustainable environment.
How has ReThink Energy Florida evolved over the years?

We started off as two people with a couple of clipboards and ballpoint pens trying to find people similarly interested in energy issues and are now a fully incorporated 501(c)(3) with a board of directors, a thriving internship program, office space, and multi-year programs like our Energy Camp for rising third through sixth-graders and our Solar Cellphone-Charger Workshops. We’re expanding statewide, with chapters starting up throughout Florida.
What do you want visitors and locals to know about ReThink Energy Florida that they may not already know?

The primary focus of fundraising at our annual Energy Ball event (which Capital City Pedicabs won an Energy Innovator Award at this year!) has been to raise money for scholarships for our Summer Energy Camp so that no child is ever turned down because of their family’s financial situation. So far, every kid that’s wanted to attend has gotten a scholarship if they needed it.We plan to continue that philosophy as we expand statewide.
What social media do you use (here’s your spot to promote)? We have a facebook page (ReThink Energy Florida) and group (ReThink Energy Florida Group), and a Twitter account (@ReThinkEnergyFL) and our website is http://rethinkenergyflorida.org.
